NEWS-UKE-IN-USE! February 2011 February winter in Chicago can be brutal at times. But our ukulele members won't pass up a chance to play their ukuleles with each other. Who wouldn't want to do somthing fun! The ukulele group's founder and co-owner of Wonderwall has decided to give FREE UKULELE LESSONS on the 3rd Friday of each month at Wonderwall Music Shoppe & Emporium. Feb. 24: Oak Park Ukulele Meetup Group's THEME NIGHT: GEORGE HARRISON! Celebrating his Birthday with special guest Skyping in from England, GLEN KNOWLER, 'The World's Greatest George Harrison Lookalike!' Feb. 25: Wonderwall Music Shoppe celebrates GEORGE HARRISON'S BIRTHDAY ALL DAY/NIGHT with special guest GLEN KNOWLER Skyping in for Wonderwall folks. Our Thursday nights (public) sessions, The OAK PARK UKULELE MEETUP GROUP continues to increase in numbers with new ukulele players, both beginners and 'seasoned' players, as well as onlookers. Currently, we have over 92 players. More players mean more songsheets and better organization. It takes at least 2 people to help prepare for our Thur. nights! Many of the songs we play on Thursday nights are songs 'this' performance group, Wonderwall's Harrison Street Ukulele Players' perform.
