| Fest News 2005: This was our 2nd year at the Fest For Beatles Fans in Chicago. It was a 'fab' time...a lot of great people, from vendors to attendees and the hotel staff! Crowds gathered when we, Chicago's Clar & GiGi Monaco of "SANDALWOOD Sitar Music Ensemble" gave live instrument demonstrations on the SITAR, TANPURA, HARMONIUM and more in our SITAR EMPORIUM's vendor booth. Fest-goers got a chance to 'sit' or stand and play various Indian instruments. And, our HAND-PAINTED TAMBOURINES was a hit again this year! See the 2005 Designs...click HERE. On Sunday, the FULL SANDALWOOD ensemble played at "THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS" Sunday - August 21! We were the first ones up and the most unique 'band', showcasing some of the Indian instruments that are heard on several Beatles and George Harrison's solo recordings.... another side of the Beatles. Our heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to "Band On the Run" who won 1st place! They were 'awesome'! And to all the bands who poured their hearts and souls into their performances! A fun time was indeed had by all! Check out photos (below) from the Fest! We're looking forward to the next Chicago Fest....new dates! AUGUST 11-13, 2006. Same location. See you next year!
